Audio Topia – Needle in the Hay

You know those songs that just bring you back in such a fast way that it can only described as some sort of space expedition rocket launch. And I’m the captain sitting at a 90 degree angle to my familiar gravity.

This song is very mellow and acoustic, so if your not into that move on. I am a sucker romantically inclined kind of gal and when a song like this comes around, I melt in my skirt onto the ground and down the hill. In a good way of course. I first heard this song featured in The Royal Tenebaums which has an incredible soundtrack to begin with but this particular song got stuck in my head and I can’t get it out. Like a cheesy love song only its a gloomy sit in the rain kind of song. Then you run outside and stomp in the mud.

Needle in the Hay has that sensation running through it, back and forth, on repeat, and rewind to play it again. That’s what this songs levels brings me to. New angles, while still being in the same rocket ship. ITs a moment of clarity, well rather 240 moments of them feels. You guys know what I’m talking about. Its a melancholy song over all but its overwhelming heaviness takes a toll on the way to audio topia. Its worth the ride.

1970s Hooplah

I’m and crazy about Joni Mitchell in every way. From her style to her lyrics and music, she is absolutely inspiring. When I get a new album of hers (I’m only up to 4) I listen it to it on repeat until I’m sick of it (which never happens). I love you Joni Mitchell, and Brecken Rivera for your hoop and your inspiration and teachings of all of my Hooplah!!!

Here’s a link to the song without my distracted hooping ☺️

Hooping is another form of ritual I do. It comforts me and lets me release my energy actively. I began hooping in 2012 and have come a long way with patience and practice. With both you get progression. This is mine.

I cut off all my hair again and moved into my own studio.

Audio Aquarium : Sound Travels Faster Through Water

This is a music site I write for. I’ve been a contributor for about four months now, and I just love it. The music is so versatile and the content is so well written, the site is just awesome. It has potential to be the next big place to find new music. From trap to folk, this spot has it all.

I’m obsessed with Astrid Engberg’s voice on this album. These guys are from completely different places and collaborated on the only album they have and it is absolutely irresistible. I first heard them in Weaverville at my last homebase and I fell in love. So please if not the whole album at least listen to ‘Equations’ with Astrid.

Audio-Topia ~ Rising Appalachia ~ Medicine

I just downloaded this song for free (or for donation) but me also being a struggling artist, I give when I can. And I just CANNOT wait for their new album (still unreleased) ‘Wider Circles.’ I know Leah and Chloe will continue to amaze us with their medicine music, worldly sounds and deep rooted lyrics, I love this group to infinity and beyond ❤
